The Motor Development Co

Isabelle Custer

From a young age, Isabelle has been deeply committed to serving her community, providing compassionate care and support to families and individuals with diverse needs. She graduated in 2021 from Kenston High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where she actively supported the special needs community, offering both practical assistance and meaningful connection. Her passion for advocating for individuals who are often underestimated is rooted in her own life experiences and the perseverance she developed overcoming personal challenges with the support of her mother, Katy Custer (read Isabelle’s full medical story in Katy’s bio at mobstrong.com).

Isabelle brings extensive experience as a caregiver, having worked as a certified nanny and full-service family caretaker for individuals across a wide range of ages, developmental stages and needs. She is CPR and First Aid certified and recognized as a first responder. Additionally, she is registered with the State of Ohio as an Independent Provider through the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), serving multiple surrounding counties.

As co-owner of MoDev8, Isabelle plays a key leadership role as head administrator, overseeing daily operations and program development. She also leads the special needs program at Awakening Church, continuing her dedication to creating inclusive, supportive environments for all individuals.

She is a Certified Spelling to Communicate Practitioner, having completed a two-year certification through I-ASC and completed her internship at Growing Kids Therapy Center in Herndon, Virginia. She is a Tuned Motor Development Specialist with foundational training through the Motor Development Company where she further developed her skills in supporting individuals with apraxia and other communication challenges. Her work focuses on helping individuals gain motor control, build independence, and access reliable communication through evidence-based practices.

Isabelle is currently attending Tiffin University and is expected to graduate in 2028 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her goal is to expand our services to include counseling support for the underestimated, specifically tailored to nonspeaking autistic individuals who have experienced the trauma of being unheard. She is passionate about not only supporting communication, but also creating space for emotional healing, autonomy, and long-term growth.

She remains dedicated to supporting individuals in reaching their highest level of independence, communication, and overall potential.

“We are not creating voices—we are revealing them. Through intentional support, faith, and perseverance, I am committed to helping individuals overcome barriers and step into their full potential.”
